What Is Color?
In 1666, English scientist Sir Isaac Newton discovered that when pure white light passes through a prism, it separates into all of the visible colors. Newton also found that each color is made up of a single wavelength and cannot be separated any further into other colors.
The Purity of White
The color White is used in many western countries to represent purity and innocence. In effect, it reflects the full force of the spectrum into our eyes. White is bright and visually gives a heightened perception of space. It is seen as clean, clear, simple, and sophisticated. The mood that White evokes is total reflection, serenity, clarity and peace.
Schweitzer Linen has a beautiful White cotton bedding set that perfectly evokes purity and sophistication, combining Mont Blanc and Alba. The geometric cutwork squares on the edges of the Alba blanket covers and shams give a clean impression of simple and modern elegance. Paired with a textural lace edge Mont Blanc, the two make a serene and angelic combination.
